Since my first cry, you wrapped me in your love the same way you’d eventually teach me to wrap every ounce of my love into each kneading of dough, sprinkling of seasoning and celebration of soul. When life gets rough, as we all know that it does, I hear your voice saying“Baby, you gotta start somewhere. You’re going to be somebody.” And I hold onto your words.I take them to the kitchen. Any kitchen. And I get to cooking. Cooking every worry, fear or doubt out of my day. So that whatever edible artform appears on the plate is the purest reflection of love, passion and pizzaz.
